Entering the Blogging World

I've been toying around with the idea of creating my own crafting blog for years. I mean years and years. The idea of starting a new blog is just so daunting. What do I call it? What should it look like? Do I really have that much to say? Do people even care what I have to say? All of those thoughts have been running around through my mind for a very long time. But I have finally decided that it is time. It's time for me to suck it up and just do it. And what better time to start a new blog than when you're stuck at home on spring break with mono?! I know. Ugh.

Anyways, since I've got another week off from student teaching with nothing to do but lay on the couch, I'm going to take the opportunity to get started on this blog and work on some crafty projects that have been floating around in my brain for a while.

Crochet today! and Crochet Gifts to Go

To start off my crafty mono-filled week, my wonderful mother brought me home two of my very favorite magazines. (Both crochet magazines of course!) I immediately fell in love with the Provence Necklace found in this month's issue of Crochet today! and knew that I HAD to make it.

I think it turned out pretty well :)
So, I gathered up every bit of energy I had (which unfortunately was not much) and drove myself to Michaels. I spent thirty minutes at the store and came out with about $40 worth of yarn for my week on the couch. I made it home and ended up having to take a two hour nap because I was just so exhausted from my trip. Sigh.

After my much-deserved nap, I quickly busted out the lovely necklace and was ready to move on to the next project (which I will post about later this week.)

That's it for now. Writing this blog post has drained me so I think it's time for another nap. Welcome to Handcrafted Vintage! Hope you enjoy it!

  1. You're Mother is wonderful, isn't she?

  2. Hey, that's my pattern! :) Your necklace looks beautiful. Great work! And yes, the world wants to hear about your crafts! Keep up the great blogging!

    1. Thank you so much! I really appreciate the encouragement!
